• My passion in ministry is seeing people become more like Jesus (holiness), and those disciples making a difference in their communities, cities, families, and all across the world. The way I have seen this happen is through worship, study, and small discipleship groups. I am a Wesleyan nerd, who believes that through our tradition of Methodism people were revived by the work of God’s Holy Spirit. That can happen again if we as a Church submit to the voice of the Holy Spirit and follow God’s Will through Scripture, accountability, community, gifts of the Spirit, and the greatest of these is love.   Welcome to Good Shepherd!

    Favorite Bible Passage:

“There are different spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; and there are different ministries and the same Lord; and there are different activities but the same God who produces all of them in everyone. A demonstration of the Spirit is given to each person for the common good. A word of wisdom is given by the Spirit to one person, a word of knowledge to another according to the same Spirit, faith to still another by the same Spirit, gifts of healing to another in the one Spirit, performance of miracles to another, prophecy to another, the ability to tell spirits apart to another, different kinds of tongues to another, and the interpretation of the tongues to another. All these things are produced by the one and same Spirit who gives what he wants to each person.”

In 2020, multiple changes came about to the way many things in our life were conducted. It was in this time period that discipleship and ministry was dependent on the digital world. In August of 2020, the Digital Discipleship position was created and I was called to serve. Audio production, computer networking, and technology have always been something that I have found enjoyable. I have prior experience volunteering with sound and computer networking for the county fairgrounds and a previous church. When my wife, Brooke, and I were looking for a church and began attending Good Shepherd in 2018 we were looking for a church that we would be able to serve in some capacity. When God provided the opportunity to serve the church body through this position we prayerfully considered and our conversations turned from the question of “Should we?” to discussing and thinking of all the possibilities.  I am excited as Brooke and I work together in this position as we develop and support God’s kingdom at Good Shepherd and “virtually” anywhere.

Favorite Bible Verse: “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.“

Fun Fact: In the middle of a global pandemic I became a first-time dad. I enjoy being outdoors with family, going on bike rides, walks, kayaking, and 4-wheeling. In my spare time, I like doing woodworking projects and DIY projects around the house.

I have always had the desire to know more about God.  It wasn’t until I was in my 30’s that I took that leap of faith to become involved in children’s ministry and from that grew my desire to witness to others about God and what he has done in my life.  In 2015 a pastor approached me to become more involved in ministry.  At that time, I began taking some classes both college level and through the Lay Servant Ministry in the United Methodist Church.  Currently, I am an active Certified Lay Servant and very involved in my church.  Last spring, I started a ladies bible study that has been such a blessing.  I receive such joy in helping others in their walk with Christ.

    Favorite Bible Verse:

    Ephesians 2:8

For by grace you are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.
