  • My passion in ministry is seeing people become more like Jesus (holiness), and those disciples making a difference in their communities, cities, families, and all across the world. The way I have seen this happen is through worship, study, and small discipleship groups. I am a Wesleyan nerd, who believes that through our tradition of Methodism people were revived by the work of God’s Holy Spirit. That can happen again if we as a Church submit to the voice of the Holy Spirit and follow God’s Will through Scripture, accountability, community, gifts of the Spirit, and the greatest of these is love.   Welcome to Good Shepherd!

    Favorite Bible Passage:

“There are different spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; and there are different ministries and the same Lord; and there are different activities but the same God who produces all of them in everyone. A demonstration of the Spirit is given to each person for the common good. A word of wisdom is given by the Spirit to one person, a word of knowledge to another according to the same Spirit, faith to still another by the same Spirit, gifts of healing to another in the one Spirit, performance of miracles to another, prophecy to another, the ability to tell spirits apart to another, different kinds of tongues to another, and the interpretation of the tongues to another. All these things are produced by the one and same Spirit who gives what he wants to each person.”

God called me into the Family Ministries Coordinator role in September 2020.  During the summer of 2020, I had to resign from being a teacher for 15 years due to the uncertainties of my children’s school year. God placed this job in my life at the perfect time. I have also served in many volunteer positions in children’s ministry while I have been a member of Good Shepherd. One of my biggest passions in life is working with children. I love being a part of children growing spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally.  I am devoted to raising our children and youth at Good Shepherd to know and follow Jesus that is engaging and spirit driven.

Favorite Bible Verse: Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

    Hebrews 11:1

Fun Fact:  In my free time, I love to read, garden, and make crafts. I also have my own craft business selling an assortment of craft items at craft shows and to my family and friends.

In 2020, multiple changes came about to the way many things in our life were conducted. It was in this time period that discipleship and ministry was dependent on the digital world. In August of 2020, the Digital Discipleship position was created and I was called to serve. Audio production, computer networking, and technology have always been something that I have found enjoyable. I have prior experience volunteering with sound and computer networking for the county fairgrounds and a previous church. When my wife, Brooke, and I were looking for a church and began attending Good Shepherd in 2018 we were looking for a church that we would be able to serve in some capacity. When God provided the opportunity to serve the church body through this position we prayerfully considered and our conversations turned from the question of “Should we?” to discussing and thinking of all the possibilities.  I am excited as Brooke and I work together in this position as we develop and support God’s kingdom at Good Shepherd and “virtually” anywhere.

Favorite Bible Verse: “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.“

    Ecclesiastes 4:12

Fun Fact: In the middle of a global pandemic I became a first-time dad. I enjoy being outdoors with family, going on bike rides, walks, kayaking, and 4-wheeling. In my spare time, I like doing woodworking projects and DIY projects around the house.

The absolute best way to utilize my time on this planet is to point others to Jesus Christ. I have been a Christ follower since I was about 7 years old.  Even though I accepted Christ at an early age, it has been in the last 15-20 years that I have been passionate about my faith. I am originally from Tennessee and have called Findlay, OH my home for the last 14 years.  During 12 of those years, I had the distinct pleasure of working alongside my husband at the Findlay Christian Book & Gift Store.  It was one of the best experiences of my life to help our community serve each other through the local church.  God created us for community and I am so blessed to be a part of His community; both at a local church level but even larger levels like the community of local churches in our area and beyond. I am so excited to see what God has in store for me and for Good Shepherd as we partner to help people become committed followers of Jesus Christ.

Favorite Bible Verse:  “For this reason I kneel before the Father from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. I pray that He may grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power in the inner man through His Spirit,  and that the Messiah may dwell in your hearts through faith. I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love, and to know the Messiah’s love that surpasses knowledge, so you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us— to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen”  Ephesians 3:14-21 HCSB

Fun Fact: Some of my favorite things to do are watching birds and photographing them.  I also love searching for pretty rocks and beach glass at any Great Lake beach.
