Our Mission:

Be and Make Committed Followers of Jesus Christ

The Mission here at Good Shepherd UMC is simple, biblical and highly practical.

We believe that God has called us to be a special people in the world. Not a people to be separate, but instead to be witness about His great love (Matthew 25) and truth of His word the Holy Bible.

Next we are convicted that because we have been called to be in relationship with HIm, that relationship is the most important connection in our life, because being in relationship with Christ is what gives life, and life external. "Be" Is a symbol to remind us that the first commandment is to love God with all we are, and everyday making sure to grow and develop this life giving relationship with God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Spirit (Holy Spirit).

Secondly, we are called not only to be in love with God but then the second greatest commandment is loving our neighbors as ourselves (Matthew 22:26-40). If our relationship with God is source of life, and life eternal then the greatest gift we can give a person is to share, and teach others about the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In hopes then that others will find the love, life, and grace that God lavishly pours out.

"Be and Make" is the reason we gather!

Being a committed Follower of Jesus

Being a disciple of Jesus Christ is the process of going into a deeper relationship with the Triune God.

Our goal here @ Good Shepherd is to teach strong Biblical theology, engage in life giving community, and serve others in selfless sacrifice. These things we believe teach a believer what it means to BE a disciple (student) of Jesus Christ.

Making Disciples

God has called the Church Universal to be light in a dark world. Good Shepherd stands firm in the great Co-Mission (Matt. 25) that in deed we are to go out of the church into the world. Orthodoxy (right teaching ) must be followed with orthopraxy (right practice) . Jesus saved us and now we want you to know that He indeed can save and transform anyone .
